The recent turn of events in which Roe v. Wade, a court ruling that set a new precedent for women’s rights, was overturned and given to the states was a shot in the chest. The only way to explain this ruling is to say it is an attack on women.

The right to an abortion has always and should always be between a woman, the father of the potential child, and a doctor. By some states outlawing abortion outright, they are not doing what they think they are doing, but rather stopping it from happening legally and most importantly, safely.

I presume that many still do not understand that if someone wants to do something they are going to do it regardless of any consequences.

This ruling is also near and dear to me because I think of what could have been. I think of what could happen if I was in a situation where I found out that I was pregnant after the point at which I could legally get an abortion.

I think of what would I do if my friend came to me hysterically because she could not get an abortion. The only thing that this ruling is accomplishing is taking away women’s rights and making them question, when will we ever be equal.

I have also heard of instances in which women think, what if men were the ones who became pregnant? If men became pregnant they would never think of taking away a man’s right to choose. And this is the sad honest truth.
